Trayko Popov was born on 28th October 1955 in Sofia, Bulgaria. He started to draw cartoons in 1973. After 1989 he specialized in conceptual design at the UCLA, California and works with leading companies there and in Europe. After a long pause in 2010 he returned to his first love - "cartoon". His cartoons have been published in various newspapers and magazines in Bulgaria, USA, Germany etc. Trayko Popov exhibited his artworks at individual exhibitions in Bulgaria, Germany and the USA. He took part at a number of national and international cartoon competitions and his artworks were awarded numerous prestigious prizes as:
1st prize for cartoon - Gabrovo, Bulgaria -2011;
1st prize (equal) - Istanbul - 31st Nasreddin Hoja -2011;
1st prize - Italy - XVII Humour a Galaratte -2011;
1st prize - Presov,Slovakia - Int. Cartoon Contest -2011;
2nd prize - Urziceni, Romania - 2012
etc.

Trayko Popov is a member of the Executive Committee of the Cartoon section by Union of Bulgarian Artists.
He is a vice president of FECO Bulgaria.
He lives and works as freelance artist in Sofia, Bulgaria.
